An introduction to me.

My name is Fyn. Born in 1996, I like to say that I’m a 90’s kid, though I was technically a 2000’s kid if we’re going by living memory. My main hobbies are playing video games, gaining knowledge, and creating stuff.
I can’t paint or draw very well – my other siblings clearly got that gift from my mother. However, I took my natural understanding of computers and technology from my dad, and the drive to understand more about them, and the passion to use that drive to create, have fun, and learn.
One of my favourite life-time experiences was travelling; just me, my friend and his dog cooped up in a transit van driving around France and Spain, transcribing to earn what little money we needed to get by and purchase what few luxuries that are available in that lifestyle.
I must say that the most valuable thing I took away from my time travelling isn’t the amazing memories, or learning to be tidier, or learning to be more financially mature; it was the perspective. Being out in nature, having to conserve power and fuel for the generator, knowing how much food storage space we have and planning what we purchase around that. Living with less.
By no means did we ever deprive ourselves of nonessentials – we lived a pretty comfortable life – but that all had to be worked for, and planned for, and managed in moderation. It was, by far, the most valuable and eye-opening chapter in my life, and one I would love to re-visit sometime.
Meanwhile, I’m currently sinking my teeth into web design, in the hopes that I can become freelance, and then aspire to really make something out of it and grow what is a strong interest into a hobby, into some extra cash, and then hopefully into my fulltime career.
It’s going to quite an adventure, there’s going to be a lot of learning curves, and there’s going to be a lot of personal development. But most importantly – there is going to be a lot of fun.
